On Friday's we have the privilege of learning Spanish with Senora Kim. The kids are learning body parts in Spanish and sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" (in Spanish of course) to help reinforce those concepts.
Some of the center activities today were Pumpkins on Starfall, the #4 for the dot books we've been working on, and rhyming puzzles.
The children also started working on their Jack-o-lantern candles with Ms. Brooke. Thank you parents for remembering to send your child with a small glass jar!

Friday, October 2nd
Yay! It's finally October and starting to feel a little more like Fall. We're excited to incorporate Halloween and all the elements that go along with it into our days at Busy Bee. For example: Today the children learned all about spiders, their body parts, and three different kinds of webs. They also did a little "Ghost Writing" with bleach on black construction paper.
These hats are so cute on the kids. They get to wear them as they help us sing our "Good Morning" song.
During centers, Ms. Amy worked with some of the children on nursery rhymes and on words that rhyme.
At one of our independent centers the children were able to play with leggos and gears.
The children are getting better at using scissors. Today they cut out "spinner" ghosts. When the ghosts are dropped from high places they spin around as they drop to the ground.
Ms. Melissa helped the students trace and write the number 3 for the our dot books. With 3 dots they made spiders.

We are so lucky to have a new "Good Morning" song written just for Busy Bee Academy this year. A good friend, April Perry, wrote it specially for our class. The children love to sing it and take turns singing their own names in the song.
Last Friday Ms. Brooke helped all of the students make their own tie-dye shirts. They were able to choose what colors they wanted and squeeze the die on their shirts. Many went home wearing the die on their hands and arms too. : ) It was so much fun to see the whole class dressed in their shirts today!
At one of our centers we made "Quiet Bottles." Ms. Amy helped the children fill their water bottles with baby oil, water, and food coloring. Then they added shapes, letters, and glitter as their treasures to quietly search for in their bottles.
At another center, the students worked with Ms. Melissa in shaving cream, drawing shapes, letters, their names, and fun pictures.

First Day of Busy Bee Academy
We are getting so excited about our first day of school. Ms Amy and Ms. Melissa and I have been working hard to get the classroom ready for you. We have a great first day planned. Come ready to play, learn and meet new friends. We will open the classroom at 8:30am. Please plan on staying for the first 25 minutes or so to get your student settled. We will read a special story to say goodbye. Don't forget your cameras and tissues!
Pick up will be at 11:45am. We look forward to seeing all our students on Thursday.
Ms. Brooke
