First Week of Busy Bee Academy

We had so much fun the first week. I am so excited about our students. They are all so cute and fun. We are having a great time learning about ocean animal life. The students got to read books, look at shells and star fish close up and play with toy ocean life. We are also becoming great pattern makers with blocks.

I am sending information home about the alphabet book. This will be a great tool at home. Please let me know if you have questions.

Please send your child in easy to pull up and down pants or shorts and no belts. This makes going to the bathroom easy. We had only one accident our first week. It it wasn't even really an accident. I am so proud.

If your child is going to wear sandals please put socks on their feet. We have wood chips and sand in the play yard and we don't want splinters.

This week we will be working with scissors, puzzles and making patterns with blocks. We will be learning more Zoo Phonics friends. We will be making a rainbow fish from the story The Rainbow Fish and a lobster and sea urchin.

May is all about Butterflies

We made butterfly scratch art. The students thought the paper was magic!

We love to retell the story by Eric Carle " The Very Hungry Caterpillar". The students worked in small groups to retell the story as they put the pieces of the story on the board. Great for reading comprehension!

Growing Butterflies

The students love studying the butterflies change.

Information About Busy Bee Academy Next year

We are excited about Busy Bee Academy for next school year. Busy Bee Academy will be moving to a bigger location this summer if everything goes as planned. The location is only a mile away off of Masters in Chase Ranch. As we get closer to closing Escrow I will give the address.

We will be opening two classes. One will be an early morning class that will start at 8:00am and end at 11:10am and a late morning class that will start 11:15am and end at 2:15pm. The first day of class will be Tuesday, August 17th. Both classes will have 13-14 students in them with two teachers for each class.

Parents who have their children at Busy Bee this school year will have first pick of the early morning of late morning class and then we will open it up to the waiting list order.

Please see tabs on the side of the blog for more detailed information about next year.

If you have any questions about next year please talk to Ms. Brooke.

We are so excited about our changes for next year and know they will provide the best care and education for your child. By having the smaller classes it will ensure small group instruction that is so critical at a young age.

Sight Words

This month we will be studying sight words. To help your student, write these words on cards and place them around the house. Sight words are words that are used often in reading and sometimes do not follow phonics rules. We want our students to know them on sight. Just like we learn colors or shapes. These words will be reviewed next year in Kindergarten.
